Alumni Grant Scheme(AGS)

The Alumni Grant Scheme (AGS) supports alumni to contribute to Papua New Guinea’s development and maintain connections with Australia. Alumni can access grants to conduct a range of activities that allow them to enhance or share the skills and knowledge developed through their studies.

Who can apply?

Alumni Grants is for alumni of Papua New Guinea who meet one of the following criteria:

  • members of the PNG-Australia Alumni Association (PNGAAA)
  • Papua New Guineans who completed their Australian tertiary qualification in Australia (sponsored or self-funded) who are eligible to be PNGAAA members
  • Papua New Guineans who have received their qualification in PNG through Australian Government or Australia Awards In-PNG Scholarship including Short Course Awards, who are eligible to be PNGAAA Associate Members.

Applications are now accepted; the closing date is 4 May 2026.

The funding is available for projects related to:

  • STEM Education
  • Gender Quality
  • Rural and Remote Inclusion, example; Health or Education
  • Climate Change Resilience
  • Food Security
  • Disaster Management and Recovery.
