Benefits
The Australia Awards In-PNG Scholarship provides a comprehensive package of benefits. If you are offered a scholarship, you will be supported by Australia Awards PNG throughout your study. The scholarship covers:
- travel to and from your province of residence to your chosen institution (mobilisation and demobilisation)
- medical kit for nursing & midwifery scholars
- return travel for Christmas (reunion travel)
- full tuition fees and on-campus accommodation (if you are residing on-campus)
- one-off establishment allowance
- fortnightly contribution to your living expenses
- a contribution to medical expenses
- participation in enrichment programs
- support for the transition into the workforce after graduation
- one-year associate membership of the PNG- Australia Alumni Association (upon successful graduation).
Bachelor of Midwifery
Open to eligible PNG citizens with nursing qualification (diploma or above), fully registered with the PNG Nursing Council, and have two years’ minimum recent employment as a practicing nurse.
Diploma in General Nursing
Open to Grade 12 school leavers and current non-school leavers.
Diploma/Bachelor in Education (Primary Teaching)
Open to Grade 12 school leavers and current non-school leavers.
Postgraduate Diploma in Education
Open to those who have completed an undergraduate degree in a science or mathematics field between 2021 and 2024.
Maritime Cadetships for Women
Open to women, subject to a range of eligibility conditions.
Graduate Diploma in Economic and Public Policy
Open to public servants at Grade 14 and above, who are based in the National Capital District and work in a department or statutory authority.
Equity Scholarships for People with Disability
Open to men and women with disability who have been offered admission into a degree program in any field of study at a tertiary institution in PNG.
