Exchanging knowledge with Australian First Nations for healthier communities

FN

Australia is boosting the knowledge of scholars across the sea, to tackle our shared challenges for healthier, more resilient communities.

30 Australia Awards Somare-Whitlam scholars were excited to share and exchange their insights with Australian First Nations representatives last month, as part of their Graduate Certificate in Nutrition studies at the University of Newcastle, through the Short Courses stream.

The group travelled to Tamworth,  Australia to learn more about food and nutrition challenges and solutions. They had the opportunity to learn from the experience of First Nations communities, who face their own challenges around malnutrition in children.

This important activity is one way that Australia is supporting PNG to  local capacity to respond to pressing and emerging health challenges.
