Congratulations to the 16 Australia Awards In-PNG Scholarship recipients who graduated from St Mary’s School of Nursing in Rabaul, East New Britain.
These women successfully completed a three-year Diploma in Nursing and will soon be applying their new skills in the Papua New Guinea health sector.
The Australian Government continues to partner with the Government of Papua New Guinea to strengthen the country’s workforce in targeted priority sectors such as health, education, and agriculture.
In the health sector, over 1,800 Australia Awards In-PNG Scholarships have been awarded to Papua New Guineans studying nursing, midwifery and community health worker programs since 2012. Papua New Guinea now has 32 more qualified nurses, including these 16 scholarship recipients, following the 30 November, 2017 graduation at St Mary’s School of Nursing.
